Imagine needing a major operation in a hospital without a working anesthesia machine. The largest hospital in Zanzibar, Tanzania relies on 1 machine on the verge of breakdown. This is a problem facing every developing country hospital, with 2 billion dollars of equipment sitting broken on hospital floors. That’s 70% of all equipment.
We aim to increase the availability of medical equipment for patients in resource poor hospitals. This means ensuring that technology is always well maintained and fully functional.
We leverage deep engineering and computer science expertise at Brown University to deliver appropriate technological solutions.
We’re a tech-minded organization that maximizes the life-saving potential of a hospital’s existing inventory. Instead of donating medical equipment, we develop IT and engineering solutions that support clinical staff.
